Well I Never! Early prep

 






Some twelve years ago David the Naster Handy Man  (now retired) asked if he should install grab bars when he was fitting a new shower hose.  I'm glad that I said yes







When my neighbour died  (8/10 years ago) her Detroit brother asked if I could use her super walker,  I didn't then.   I do  now!

    Good to hear that you’re doing well in spite of the health challenges. Welcome to becoming an elder statesman. I have back pain, skin issues from the sun, an endocrine tumor and am diabetic but otherwise healthy. I’m glad that walker is there and being put to good use. It will help you to keep from falling. The world is a much better place with you in it. If everyone was as kind as you we wouldn’t have Trump for our president. Alas, everyone is not like you. Keep on pushing and smiling. Eddie and Lynne

Merry Go Round Home, Hospital, Clinic, Home. Confusion

 The saga started at the Sarasota Memorial Hospital's Wound Clinic.  A small lesion on my right leg was healing well;  but the big toe was wildly inflamed and infected. Thus followed surgery for that; with a bonus -  the long overdue insertion of a stent from my heart  to my right leg.   On one of my furloughs I was sent home bearing a Jackson-Pratt drainage machine with instructions for its use. Grrh   a plastic tube broke loose as I slept,  causing a flood in my sleep wear etc.   Fortunately that was the day for a nurse to be at my home. Back at the Hospital I was not a particularly good boy.  When given the choice between going home or having therapy I always chose to go home. On one occasion I chose home.   No sooner had I been there I fell into a sense of deep loneliness. I treated myself

My eyes begin to dim    I treated myself to new "spectacles". A bold watch face, plus a showing of day and date. Essential for we "old failing memory farts".  A quick glance at the left or right wrist is so much simpler than searching for a handheld device.
