Who Is She?

 


Every now and then I get junk mail for one "Whitney Povey". The photo' is of the most recent.  In the past Whitney has also been offered a modeling career; and a college application.

There are no Whitney Poveys in my extended family.

No such person has lived at my address.

I do not have a secret daughter with this name - of that I am 100% certain.

I am not descended from Eli Whitney.

I have never owned Pratt and Whitney shares.

Go figure!   Once you are on a junk mail list you will forever be on such a list.  Such is the efficiency of big business and mailing lists.

I am tempted to sign up for a Discover Student Card in Whitney's name, but that would complicate matters!

  Some will remember that when I bought a new iPhone last December I *through my own fault* lost all the contact info and photo's on my old 'phone, 'Twas frustrating. I took my old bones to a Verizon Store (on University Parkway, Sarasota) to ( as they say in the U.K. ) get it sorted. This Photo' Arrived Out Of the Blue: A 12/13 years old jmp and others.

  It came from one Graham Hunt, a friend from many years ago. Pictured are members of the Bristol based Venturers Boys Club on a field trip to the Port of Avonmouth. I remember some of the lads. Centre frame is Jeff Davies - a longtime friend (since 1950).  We saw each other this year. I am crouched down.  I still had hair.  I was a skinny kid - puberty hit me a bit late. I was a reluctant member.  I had no interest in woodwork.  I was 100% inept at Table Tennis.   Being precociously religious I was at home in the semi formal services which were a feature of the Club.
