Prologue



I cancelled my AMEX Gold Card/Delta Sky Miles Credit Card today.  I've held it since 2016.

It promised to grant Delta (my preferred airline) SKY MILES.  They have been slow to accrue because due to Covid and other factors. I've taken few flights in recent years. 

The 'Sky Miles" I've earned seem expensive when set down against the annual charge of $99.

BUT  (you say)  If you used the card for everyday and ordinary purchases you'd earn Delta Sky Miles in abundance.

True enough but there's no such thing as a free lunch. Someone has to pay.

"Someone?"   It's your local small/local/indy business.  Every time you use your Credit Card to do business with them they face a processing fee from the Duopoly (Master Card and Visa)

YES INDEED if you use a Credit Card when shopping locally you are cutting into the margins of your local small/local/indy business. 

DON'T DO IT!  Please pay with cash or with a Debit Card.

Not the best of days HELP! A mistake and a fall.

  I arrived in time for my 8:50 appointment with my Dermatologist.   The Receptionist told me that I did not have an appointment.  She checked the records and told me that my appointment is for Tuesday. I knew that.  Then the light dawned.  Up until that moment I had thought that it was Tuesday, not Monday. You'd think that calendars had not been invented! It got worse. I took Cooper for an early pee walk this afternoon.  He lifted his leg to cue. Then he took a strong and mad dash towards a Squirrel.  I fell down.  And great was my fall. Lots of scrapes.  No bones broken. Pictures not in order. Excuse duplicates. No sympathy please - I was foolish. Fortunately, I had an arm bandage to sop up the blood. It looks worse than it is.
