Blessing of the Animals at Sarasota's Temple Emmanu-el Today

 I am a great admirer of the life and ministry of Temple Emmanu-el, a Reform Judaism congregation here in Sarasota.  I am grateful for the ways in which I can share in that life, even as I have no intention or need to convert to Judaism. I want to rejoice in the best of every religion.

I could not resist participating in the Temple's Blessing of the Animals this morning.  (For clear and obvious reasons not linked to St. Francis Day).

With Associate Rabbi Michael Shefrin, who used to be my near neighbour (in Glen Oaks Manor).  Rabbi S introduced me to Temple Emmanu-el.

Not the best of days HELP! A mistake and a fall.

  I arrived in time for my 8:50 appointment with my Dermatologist.   The Receptionist told me that I did not have an appointment.  She checked the records and told me that my appointment is for Tuesday. I knew that.  Then the light dawned.  Up until that moment I had thought that it was Tuesday, not Monday. You'd think that calendars had not been invented! It got worse. I took Cooper for an early pee walk this afternoon.  He lifted his leg to cue. Then he took a strong and mad dash towards a Squirrel.  I fell down.  And great was my fall. Lots of scrapes.  No bones broken. Pictures not in order. Excuse duplicates. No sympathy please - I was foolish. Fortunately, I had an arm bandage to sop up the blood. It looks worse than it is. BUT  1.  I was foolish in two ways. First, I had taken Cooper on a short leash.  I'd have had more control with the double handled long leash. 2. When he made his mad dash, I should have dropped ...
