So, I am cranky today!

 Many American Churches will have (or will have had) Pancake Dinners on this Shrove Tuesday (open to many who have not been shriven!)

Oh those ghastly American faux pancakes. A semi emulsified slurry, swamped in false Maple Syrup.  Ugh

In the post Christian U.K.  (and maybe Ireland) the real thing is served.

The "real thing"?   Crepes dammit, Crepes!

In many families they are sprinkled with confectionary sugar and fresh lemon juice.

Today this ex-patriate Brit enjoyed a Staffordshire Oatcake - a Crepe by another name.



 I made mine from a splendid mix imported from England.

Not the best of days HELP! A mistake and a fall.

  I arrived in time for my 8:50 appointment with my Dermatologist.   The Receptionist told me that I did not have an appointment.  She checked the records and told me that my appointment is for Tuesday. I knew that.  Then the light dawned.  Up until that moment I had thought that it was Tuesday, not Monday. You'd think that calendars had not been invented! It got worse. I took Cooper for an early pee walk this afternoon.  He lifted his leg to cue. Then he took a strong and mad dash towards a Squirrel.  I fell down.  And great was my fall. Lots of scrapes.  No bones broken. Pictures not in order. Excuse duplicates. No sympathy please - I was foolish. Fortunately, I had an arm bandage to sop up the blood. It looks worse than it is. BUT  1.  I was foolish in two ways. First, I had taken Cooper on a short leash.  I'd have had more control with the double handled long leash. 2. When he made his mad dash, I should have dropped ...
