A First Time for Everything - Positive, with questions.

On Sunday 18th I baked a cake from scratch. I am 78 years old but  I'd never done so before.

Good tasting Fruitcake;  with golden raisins and dried apricots  soaked in rum.

The cake is beautifully moist, yet it is crumbly when sliced.

Any tips cake bakers?  Should I have added an extra egg for binding?  Do I need a very sharp cake knife?

Here is the recipe.
