Sara and her partner Bill McMahon hosted an Apartment Warming party yesterday afternoon.
'Twas wonderful I learned so much.
I talked with a photographer who had been stranded abroad after 9/11 He spoke of returning an an America which felt like a morgue.
Then we chatted about the untimely deaths of dogs we'd had.
There was a woman who is on the staff at New College. We were sad and angry about the politically engineered demise of the College.
Imagine meeting a Composer. As a kid he had a guitar. Once he had mastered the instrument he began to improvise ,and thus drifted into musical composition.
No names of course but another guest is a leading Graphic Designer at the Asolo Theatre. That's an amazingly intense and complicated task. Imagine having to read the scripts of plays before you even begin.
Our co-host Bill is with a Venice FL company which reviews and assesses new inventions; then sources materials, and companies which could build the invention, using American owned businesses in order to enable or create American workers. There's patriotism for you.
What a memorable party. Terrific hosts and fascinating guests. It cleared some of the cobwebs from my brain.
