PET SCAN (Heart Stress Test) GREAT STAFF and COFFEE!
A PET myocardial perfusion imaging scan, commonly known as a PET stress test, is used to show how well blood flows to your heart’s muscles while you’re at rest and during stress. It helps detect any blockages by comparing images taken at rest and during stress1. Unlike traditional stress tests that use exercise, a cardiac PET-CT stress test uses medication to increase blood flow to the heart, and a PET-CT scanner takes pictures of a radiotracer to provide important information about heart function2.

My Heart Doctor ordered the test, not because of any presenting symptoms, but as a routine check up on my heart health. I'll get the results in a couple of weeks.
The procedure went well due entirely to the skills of the two women technicians. Those skills included keeping me well informed at all stages of the procedure; telling me what was happening and why. Ten out of ten for communication skills. I've commended them up the chain of command.
On Tuesday I wrote a semi-humorous piece about being deprived of coffee in preparation for the test.
As it was drawing to a close one of the women said that caffeine is a good antidote for the stress which my heart had enjoyed. Would I like Coke, Pepsi, or COFFEE. Music to my ears. Immediately after the test I was given a steaming cup of very good coffee.
