I like these

 


An Irish favourite which beguiled people in the north west of England (perhaps via the many Irish immigrants in Liverpool).

We snooty English southerners thought of eating Fish and Chips with a side of Mushies to be a strange northern custom.

We didn't like them because we'd never tried them.

In an adventurous mood I bought some in the international foods section of a local supermarket.

I like them!  They are sweet, and make a grand side dish with (say) eggs and bacon' or a good pork chop.

Come to think of it they are very much like the canned marrow fat  peas which Mum used to buy

Not the best of days HELP! A mistake and a fall.

  I arrived in time for my 8:50 appointment with my Dermatologist.   The Receptionist told me that I did not have an appointment.  She checked the records and told me that my appointment is for Tuesday. I knew that.  Then the light dawned.  Up until that moment I had thought that it was Tuesday, not Monday. You'd think that calendars had not been invented! It got worse. I took Cooper for an early pee walk this afternoon.  He lifted his leg to cue. Then he took a strong and mad dash towards a Squirrel.  I fell down.  And great was my fall. Lots of scrapes.  No bones broken. Pictures not in order. Excuse duplicates. No sympathy please - I was foolish. Fortunately, I had an arm bandage to sop up the blood. It looks worse than it is. BUT  1.  I was foolish in two ways. First, I had taken Cooper on a short leash.  I'd have had more control with the double handled long leash. 2. When he made his mad dash, I should have dropped ...
