WOT! No Car Insurance?


 What the heck. Why had I been cancelled?

My car insurance renewal was due in early July.  I paid it in full by a check on 13th June. The check was cashed.   Pay it in full and not by monthly instalments.  Instalment payments include an 18% interest surcharge.


 Auto Owners Insurance sent me a Certificate of Insurance.

BUT Last Friday  I received the above notice of cancellation.  BOO


After a weekend of worry/frustration I took myself  this morning to my local agent (Wallace Welch & Willingham), corner of Webber and Route 41.)

A fine young agent (Miguel Heredia) was as confused as I.  He promised to take up the matter with Auto-Owners Insurance in Cincinnati. Ohio.

That he did.  Here is the dope.  

Head Office in Cincy  had received my check, but had credited the payment to an other account.

I was glad to get this message from  Miguel later in the morning.


Good morning Mr. Povey,

 

I called Auto-Owner’s and Phoebe from accounting was able to locate your check. Apparently, it was mistakenly applied to a different account, we put in a request to have it corrected and the paid-in-full discount will also be honored. Next year I'll take my hot dollars in cash to Wallace Welch & Willingham in Sarasota.  


For now I'll be entirely grateful to Miguel; but frustrated with the Auto -Owners Home Office.


The process should be simpler!

  Please no 'phone calls.  PLEASE!  (but this news is not private) At 8:00 this morning I took Zion to a local  Veterinarian for a scan of a mass on his jaw. By 12:30 the Vet phoned me with this shocking and unexpected news.  (see below)   How odd that a scan for a lesser issue should reveal the bad news.   I think that the scan was providential. I could have taken him home for what would have been his last two to three possible miserable days but I  decided to say goodbye to Zion there and then.  I stayed with him to the end at 2:00 p.m. I am in shock.  I am grateful for six fantastic years together.  I rejoice that he brought joy to so many people. Utterly Wonderful

  80 years equals family Fifty plus of us. My five remaining sibs and their spouses. Nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews. Cousins, second cousins, third cousins A joyful and relaxed family reunion. Super food. Great food for children with activities for them too, including face painting. This 80-year-old child wore a birthday coronet and insisted on having his face painted. A marvelous family reunion; and the greatest celebration of my four score years.
