Penne and Zion

I came upon this Video of my first Canine Friend, Penne who was with me from 2008 - 2017.  I cherish her memory.

In the video she is playing with her soft toy, a gift from my friends Ron and Char.

Penne had a ton of energy.  She slept in my sitting room.  The moment I awoke she would race into my bedroom to greet me.  If I left my home for just a few minutes  she would greet me with great enthusiasm at the front door.

Came the day when her energy was mitigated by pain.  Penne had severe spinal pain.   She was on pain meds. for a while until my Vet. (after a blood test) saw that the meds. were having a deleterious effect on her kidneys.

So I had to say goodbye.  I cried for three days,

Then for a while came Ben, a retired Greyhound, who was destructive when left alone. He needed the company of other Greys.  He found a great home with two other Greys.

Izzy, a  wonderful Catahoula Hound was next.  But there was a problem.   He was bound and determined to kill my cat. Unthinkable!  He found a home on an east of Sarasota Farm.  Ole

Then the  Humane Society of Sarasota hooked me up with the fabulous and gorgeous Mr. Z.  a.ka. ZION

Z is utterly laid back.  He is happy when I am within in his sight.  I am glad when he is nearby.  I like it.

Not the best of days HELP! A mistake and a fall.

  I arrived in time for my 8:50 appointment with my Dermatologist.   The Receptionist told me that I did not have an appointment.  She checked the records and told me that my appointment is for Tuesday. I knew that.  Then the light dawned.  Up until that moment I had thought that it was Tuesday, not Monday. You'd think that calendars had not been invented! It got worse. I took Cooper for an early pee walk this afternoon.  He lifted his leg to cue. Then he took a strong and mad dash towards a Squirrel.  I fell down.  And great was my fall. Lots of scrapes.  No bones broken. Pictures not in order. Excuse duplicates. No sympathy please - I was foolish. Fortunately, I had an arm bandage to sop up the blood. It looks worse than it is. BUT  1.  I was foolish in two ways. First, I had taken Cooper on a short leash.  I'd have had more control with the double handled long leash. 2. When he made his mad dash, I should have dropped ...
