The Death of Queen Elizabeth II NO DISSENT ALLOWED
What do you know about Queen Elizabeth II and the Royal Family?
The short and truthful answer is that you/we only know what said Royal Family has wanted us to know. For the most part they have controlled the narrative.
The control mechanism has been enabled by an almost shameful deference to Her Majesty on the part of the public media (radio, t.v. print journalism etc.)
Of course "The Firm" lost the ability to control the story with the divorces of three out of their four children: Charles' adultery and Andrew's deviance anyone.
The Royal nadir was when Princess Diana was killed in Paris. The Queen and the Duke stayed aloof at Balmoral (after all, Diana was no longer "one of us". Only Prime Minister Tony Blair's flight to Scotland saved the royal bacon.
The Queen is Dead. God save the King.
King Charles III devised and controlled the narrative to re-establish the mystique of Queen Elizabeth. Everything you have seen since then - the processions, the lying in state at St. Giles', the flight to London, the visits to Ireland and Wales, the events at Westminster Hall; even the design of the sacred five mile route; the choice to allow Andrew and Harry to wear Military Uniform (who cares?) - everything carefully choreographed to enhance the image of the perfect and entirely well beloved Queen.
Remember this when you watch the obsequies tomorrow.
Remember this too NO DISSENT ALLOWED
Public dissent to the very notion of Monarchy has been all but silenced. One man was arrested for hoisting a small banner which read something like "Charles is not my King".
Sir Keir Starmer, the leader of the Labour Party, forbad Labour Members of Parliament to make any public statements other than "I mourn the death of Queen Elizabeth etc., etc. " The Labour Party for goodness sake - a party which has since its inception had a flank of republicans.
One member defied Starmer and was printed by the Guardian.
Do yourself a favour and read an opinion which is contrary to the public mood. Such dissent is vital in what claims to be a Parliamentary Democracy.

I am broadly in sympathy with this dissent. As a child at aged about nine years the Queen visited Bristol. Even then I saw no point in joining the throngs to wave a small Union Flag as her limo. swept by.
Despite this I'll probably watch some of the ceremonial on Monday. It would seen un-American not to do so.
