Oh the Incongruity - Healing and Guns

Here is a bit about the Shriners Hospitals for Children.

The Shriners Hospitals were at one time the premier and only U.S.A. and Mexican source of utterly free hospital care for very sick children. There are thousands of American and Mexican adults who owe their very lives, or the quality of their lives because of Shriners.

As the wiki article above shows, the Shriners Hospitals have changed their policies and practices to match the realpolitik of the U.S.A Health Care system.   Note that the Tampa Shriners Hospital is now closed, and that the Shriners system can no longer afford free care and must rely on Health Insurance (except in their burns hospitals which continue to offer free care).

The Sarasota Shriners Lodge is on Beneva Rd. and Circus Blvd,  a mile from my home.




It seems to be stretched for cash, so it has dubbed its main Meeting Hall as an Event Centre.

Next weekend the Shrine will be the host for a Gun Show.



            Oh the dreadful incongruity.


A Shriners Lodge which presumably is dedicated to the health and well being of children will be  the site of a Gun Show.

Uvalde anyone?  Parkland anyone? Sandy Hook anyone?

Not the best of days HELP! A mistake and a fall.

  I arrived in time for my 8:50 appointment with my Dermatologist.   The Receptionist told me that I did not have an appointment.  She checked the records and told me that my appointment is for Tuesday. I knew that.  Then the light dawned.  Up until that moment I had thought that it was Tuesday, not Monday. You'd think that calendars had not been invented! It got worse. I took Cooper for an early pee walk this afternoon.  He lifted his leg to cue. Then he took a strong and mad dash towards a Squirrel.  I fell down.  And great was my fall. Lots of scrapes.  No bones broken. Pictures not in order. Excuse duplicates. No sympathy please - I was foolish. Fortunately, I had an arm bandage to sop up the blood. It looks worse than it is.
