The Pandemic Is Not Over. WEAR YOUR MASKS

There is a bible verse which says:  

They have healed the wound of my people lightly, saying, ‘Peace, peace,’ when there is no peace. (Jeremiah 6:14)

That verse has been in my mind with reference to the COVID 19 Pandemic.   I take it out of context to say

"They have said 'the pandemic is over' 'the pandemic is over" when the pandemic is not over".

A case in point 1.  A friend of mine was admitted to the hospital last Thursday 26th May.  He's had the two Moderna vaccinations, plus one booster shot. Due to his general weakness he has not left his home in years, except for medical appointments. 

But he has acquired a COVID infection whilst in the Hospital!   Despite all the scrupulous protocols hospitals can be breeding grounds for infections.

A case in point 2.  via the Centers for Disease Control we read this in our local newspaper. 

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is once again recommending that Sarasota County residents wear a mask in indoor, public settings.

This week, Sarasota County was upgraded from a “medium” COVID-19 community level to a “high” level. COVID-19 case numbers having been rising in the county.

But not any old mask.   N95 masks (beware of counterfeits) are the most efficacious. 




Yes, they are uncomfortable.   But a bit of discomfort in indoor facilities  is surely better than a COVID 19 infection.

Not the best of days HELP! A mistake and a fall.

  I arrived in time for my 8:50 appointment with my Dermatologist.   The Receptionist told me that I did not have an appointment.  She checked the records and told me that my appointment is for Tuesday. I knew that.  Then the light dawned.  Up until that moment I had thought that it was Tuesday, not Monday. You'd think that calendars had not been invented! It got worse. I took Cooper for an early pee walk this afternoon.  He lifted his leg to cue. Then he took a strong and mad dash towards a Squirrel.  I fell down.  And great was my fall. Lots of scrapes.  No bones broken. Pictures not in order. Excuse duplicates. No sympathy please - I was foolish. Fortunately, I had an arm bandage to sop up the blood. It looks worse than it is. BUT  1.  I was foolish in two ways. First, I had taken Cooper on a short leash.  I'd have had more control with the double handled long leash. 2. When he made his mad dash, I should have dropped ...
